<title>Impacts of climate change on inundation and salinity intrusion of Cuu Long delta</title>
<link>http://tainguyenso.vnu.edu.vn/jspui/handle/123456789/9472</link>
<description>Impacts of climate change on inundation and salinity intrusion of Cuu Long delta
Hoang, Minh Tuyen
Base on the results of the flow simulated by Mekong River Commission (MRC), combined with Sea Level Rise (SLR) and salinity scenarios by IMHEN, the paper presents impacts of CC on flooding and salinity intrusion in Cuu Long Delta. By 2050, the maximal flooded area which is more than 0.5 m depth can be up to 68.3% of the entire area of Cuu Long Delta. The maximum distance of salinity intrusion increases in the main rivers can reach by 10 km by the middle of the 21st century. The area affected by salinity intrusion at &gt;4‰ occupies 41% area of all Cuu Long Delta and by salinity &gt;1‰ is 59% of natural area.

<title>Variation of some atmospheric circulation factors affecting Vietnam climate</title>
<link>http://tainguyenso.vnu.edu.vn/jspui/handle/123456789/9471</link>
<description>Variation of some atmospheric circulation factors affecting Vietnam climate
Tran, Van Thang
More and more evidence of global climate warming, sea level rise, droughts, floods and&#13;
climate extremes are recorded. In Vietnam, the manifestation of climate change (CC) is often&#13;
considered as changing the level and trend of variation of main climatic elements and sea level.&#13;
However, Vietnam climate influenced by the characteristics of atmospheric circulation in the Earth&#13;
climate system. This paper presents expression of some characteristics of regional (the expanded&#13;
East Asia area: 100S - 500N; 600E - 1600E) atmospheric circulation affecting Vietnam climate,&#13;
including: surface pressure, zonal circulation indices (Iς); meridional circulation indices (Iλ); Cold&#13;
front frequency (CF) in the North of Viet Nam. The numbers of tropical cyclone over the East Sea&#13;
and affecting Vietnam are mentioned in other studies. Changes in atmospheric circulation over the&#13;
area are reflected by the differences of regional atmospheric circulation characteristics values&#13;
between the recent period (1991-2007) and the study period (1960-2007) mentioned above.

<title>Impacts of climate change on the flow in Hong-Thai Binh and Dong Nai river basins</title>
<link>http://tainguyenso.vnu.edu.vn/jspui/handle/123456789/9470</link>
<description>Impacts of climate change on the flow in Hong-Thai Binh and Dong Nai river basins
Tran, Hong Thai; Tran, Thuc
Climate change (CC) is one of the most significant challenges facing human beings in&#13;
the 21st century. CC will seriously affect lives, production and environment worldwide. It also&#13;
leads to the increasing temperature and one of its consequences is sea level rise, resulting in&#13;
unpredicted changes of the river flow. This may cause more severe floods, serious drought and&#13;
water shortage, further to continent of the salinity intrusions and negatively effect on the human’s&#13;
lives, socio-economic development. In order to assess the changes in flow in Hong - Thai Binh and&#13;
Dong Nai river basins under influences of CC, in the article flow from two mentioned basins is&#13;
analyzed under condition of CC. This is important basis to evaluate the effect of CC on other fields&#13;
relating to water resources. In the article, rainfall-runoff model (MIKE 11 - NAM model) was used&#13;
to determine the flow in essential locations in Hong – Thai Binh and Dong Nai river basins in the three CC scenarios: A2, B2 and B1 [1].

<title>Developing bird watching ecotourism combined with education and natural conservation</title>
<link>http://tainguyenso.vnu.edu.vn/jspui/handle/123456789/9469</link>
<description>Developing bird watching ecotourism combined with education and natural conservation
Nguyen, Lan Hung Son; et al.
Bird watching ecotourism is highly-responsible and educative kind of nature tourism which helps conserve natural environment and culture values of the local area, develop community and bring about remarkable economic benefits. Birds are seen everywhere but especially found with many species in nature reserves and national parks. There are 30 National Parks, 67 Nature Reserves, more than 50 Bird Sanctuaries in Vietnam, and more 16 Marine Protected Area are planned to be established until 2015, which has great potentials to develop bird watching ecotourism. In order to develop this tourism model in nature reserve, it is necessary to improve personnel’s capability and to set up database for identifying wild birds in each area. Conserving precious and specific bird species, characteristic communities for habitats plays an important role in attracting tourists to Vietnam for bird watching. Some database in analyzing bioacoustics in some specific wind season tropical forests in Vietnam are presented in this paper such as Orange-bellied leafbird, Silver-eared mesia and Indian cuckoo.
