Abstract:

This is the first research on the language education policy of Korea in Vietnam and it could be considered as a first step in a more comprehensive and systematic study of Korean language policy with an aim to highlight its lessons for the improvement of language education in Vietnam.
The research aims at answering the following questions:
• Does Korea have any policy of language education (of both Korean and foreign languages) at schools? If any, how have these policies emerged and developed? What factors affect their emergence and development? What are the main contents of Korea’s current language education policy at schools?
• What are the practices of language education at Korean schools at present? How are the curriculum and textbooks developed? What teaching methods are being used and with what results?
• What lessons and experiences for the improvement of the quality of language education program at Vietnamese schools could be drawn from the language education policy and practices in Korea? |
