In this report, the species composition of butterfly (Papilionoidea: Rhopalocera) and Isoptera and the comments on their distribution are presented. 95 species of 8 families and 67 genera of butterfly were found. The majority of them were the species of families Papilionidae, Danaidae, Pieridae, which prefer to live in the gaps. The numeral of the species of the family of Satyridae and Amathusiidae fond of living under foliage was relative less (2 species and 9 species respectively). Besides, 32 species of 3 families and 11 genera of termite were collected in the investigated area. Of them, 21 species are new records for Cao Bang Province. This proved the particular characteristic of termite fauna of Thang Hen area.
The low proportion of butterfly species fond of foliage and the high proportion of the one like living in gaps, as well as the lack of some genera of termite (Microtermes, and Pericapritermes) were the evidences for the degradation of forest environment of Thang Hen. This problem should be mentioned in order to give the methods to prevent the loss of Biodiversity of Thang Hen forest in the future. |
