Abstract: The term "Cadastral system" is known as a State land management system with 2 essential contents: 1) The administrative-institutional system in land management, which is formed from 3 tools: planning, law, and economic; 2) The administrative-procedural system in land management, which is formed from 2 solutions: land registration and cadastral record establishment. In the history of Vietnam, it is possible to recognize 5 consecutive cadastral systems, which symbolized for 5 periods differentiated by socio-economic development levels: Elementary cadastral system of the Ho Dynasty (at the beginning of XV century), Feudal cadastral systems of the Later Le Dynasty (XV century) and Nguyen Dynasty (XIX century), Developed cadastral system in the French colonial period, and Present cadastral system (Socialist Republic of Vietnam). The cadastral system established from 1994 till now is a contemporary cadastral system, which guarantees the success of national industrialization and modernization process in Vietnam
