This paper presents some new approaches to studying and classifying the complex sentence in Russian. The traditional approach does not solve this problem properly. In order to solve this problem, the principles of description, the syntactic, the semantic, the paradigmatic and the pragmatic aspects are taken into consideration. In recent years, there have emerged some new approaches to studying the syntax of the complex sentence in Russian: the approach to solving the borderline cases in the syntax of the complex sentence, the communicative approach to the study of the complex sentence, and the cognitive approach to the description and classification of the complex sentence. The paper discusses these new approaches in some detail, clarifying the issue both in theory and in writing a textbook on Russian syntax (complex sentences) for undergraduate and graduate students of Russian in Vietnam |
