Question semantic analysis in Vietnamese QA system

Abstract

Question semantic analysis is an important step in Question Answering (QA), especially for Vietnamese question. The paper introduces our proposed model for Vietnamese QA system (VQAS) and an approach of Vietnamese question analysis. The model first caries out syntax and semantic analysis of Vietnamese queries, then outputs set of tuples related to information in VQAS' ontology which they intend to retrieve. Based on features of Vietnamese, analyzing semantics of Vietnamese questions plays an important role in searching correct result for question. Therefore, the paper focuses on semantic analysis and processing of Vietnamese queries. The model has performed a syntax analysis and semantic processing of hundreds Vietnamese queries in kinds of Yes/No, WH and selective form, which are related to the ontology of a computer science area. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
