Abstract: The various methods of wear and lubrication calculation for crankshaft sliding bearing were presented based on the solution of dynamic problem for hydrodynamic equation of lubrication and wear. The concrete parameters as lubricant film thickness, eccentricity, pressure and velocity distribution, friction coefficient, and wear intensity were determined. The oil used was SAE 40W. The clearance of the main bearing reached maximum and limited value. The wear rate of main bearing increased with increasing velocity. This is an abstract presented at the World Tribology Congress III (Washington, DC 9/12-16/2005).
