Abstract:
The paper give an overview of poverty situation in Vietnam and points out the characteristics and evolution of poverty in Vietnam and related socio-economic policies in the mountainous region. By studying the case study in Na Hang District, Tuyen Quang Province in the Northern Uplands of Vietnam during more than the last 40 years in the socio-economic circumstances of the region of uplands and minority ethnics, the paper analyzes the interactions between food production, the management and utilization of natural resources and poverty situation in the region and draws out the lessons for implementing poverty reduction programs in Vietnam.
