Direct dumping of marine clay is harmful to the marine ecology while stabilization with cement is expensive and dumping can still generate disturbance to the marine ecology is unavoidable. In the present study, the author has carried out a pilot trial in mixing marine clay with recycled aggregate and sand, and the mix is hydraulically pressed to form building blocks. The experience in the trial and the various practical problems will be discussed. |
